Health department prepares for move to Citizens Square<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(May 17, 2011) – The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health will be closed on Friday, May 27 and Tuesday, May 31 so that its offices in the City-County Building can be moved to Citizens Square.<\/p>\n

“We are excited about the opportunity to serve our community better, but we ask for everyone’s patience and understanding as we complete this transition,” said Administrator Mindy Waldron.<\/p>\n

Although there will be a temporary disruption in routine services on those moving days, the Department of Health will continue to provide critical services as needed.<\/p>\n

Once relocated, the Department of Health will occupy the third floor of the building at 200 East Berry Street. Parking will be available in several locations nearby.<\/p>\n

The Department of Health divisions\/programs affected by this move will be:<\/p>\n

\n[li]Food & Consumer Protection[\/li]
\n[li]Pollution Control[\/li]

\n[li]Communications\/Public Information[\/li]
\n[\/list]<\/p>\n

The clinical programs in the Medical Annex building (4813 New Haven Ave.) and the Vector Control & Environmental Services office (2242 Carroll Road) will remain in their current locations.<\/p>\n

The Department of Health will provide updates on the progress of the move through the news media, its Web site, www.allencountyhealth.com<\/span>, and via the Nixle alert system.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
