Fans invited to pre-season activities<\/strong>
\nOpen house, Meet the Team events on tap for early April<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(March 29, 2011) – The TinCaps will hold an open house at Parkview Field on Saturday, April 2 and a “Meet the Team” event on Wednesday, April 6. Admission to both sneak-peek events is free!<\/p>\n

The open house runs 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on April 2. Fans can take guided tours visiting the TinCaps’ clubhouse, spots close to the field and other areas normally not available to the public. The Kids’ Zone will be open, free of charge, for the entire open house event.<\/p>\n

“We realize there are still some fans out there who haven’t been on a tour of Parkview Field and others who may not be familiar with the improvements we’ve made,” TinCaps president Mike Nutter said. “Either way, we invite everyone to come and check out the ballpark.”<\/p>\n

Both events will serve as training sessions for the TinCaps’ food and beverage staff, which will fire up the grills for the first time this year. All items on an abbreviated menu will be priced at $1 or $2 while supplies last. No alcoholic beverages will be served, but soft drinks will be available at both events.<\/p>\n

“Meet the Team” night, Wednesday, April 6, will give fans their first look at the 2011 TinCaps squad. A public workout will begin at approximately 5 p.m. with an autograph session to follow. While the 2011 roster is unknown, the TinCaps’ entire coaching staff has major-league experience. Manager Shawn Wooten was part of the Angels’ 2002 World Championship team, pitching coach Willie Blair’s big-league career spanned 12 seasons and hitting coach Kory DeHaan played parts of two seasons for San Diego.<\/p>\n

Tickets are still available for each game on Opening Weekend. The TinCaps open the season Thursday, April 7 at 7:05 p.m. against the South Bend Silver Hawks (Class-A Arizona Diamondbacks). Thirsty Thursday drink specials are in effect on Opening Night; featured events
\ninclude 3D video board features and a post-game fireworks show. The season-opening four-game series runs through Sunday, April 10.<\/p>\n
