ICE ACCRETION ON ROAD SURFACES WILL CAUSE SLIPPERY CONDITIONS AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL. THERE WILL ALSO BE SOME ICE ACCUMULATIONS ON TREES AND POWER LINES. ICE ACCUMULATIONS TODAY ARE EXPECTED TO BE UNDER A QUARTER OF AN INCH. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS BY TUESDAY MORNING OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED NORTH OF HIGHWAY 30 WITH LESSER AMOUNTS TO THE SOUTH BUT GREATER ICING. STAY TUNED TO LOCAL MEDIA OR NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR UPDATES.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST \/5 AM CST\/TUESDAY&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NORTHERN INDIANA HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR A MIX OF FREEZING RAIN AND<br \/>\nSNOW&#8230;WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM EST \/5 AM CST\/ TUESDAY.<\/p>\n<p>* TIMING&#8230;FREEZING RAIN WILL MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SNOW BY LATE MORNING. A PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW IS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.<\/p>\n<p>* MAIN IMPACT&#8230;THE WINTRY MIX WILL CAUSE ICY ROAD CONDITIONS AND HAZARDOUS TRAVEL.<\/p>\n<p>* SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED BY TUESDAY MORNING.<\/p>\n<p>PRECAUTIONARY\/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW&#8230;SLEET&#8230;OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES.
