Parks & Recreation Closings and Cancellations<\/strong>
\nLakeside Pond Closed<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Due to the expected inclement weather, all the after school youth programs, Community Center programs and Botanical Conservatory programs are canceled for this evening.<\/p>\n

The Community Center will close at 4:30 pm this evening, the Botanical Conservatory will close at 5 pm, and Weisser, Jennings and Cooper Centers will also close at 5 pm this evening.<\/p>\n

Lakeside Pond is now closed for ice skating. The snow accumulation on the pond is insulating the ice and making it unsafe.<\/p>\n

The Department’s inclement weather policy states:<\/p>\n

“If Fort Wayne Community Schools close due to inclement weather, all Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation classes will also be canceled. When there is a school delay, all classes will run at the regularly scheduled times.<\/p>\n

“If the Mayor declares a snow emergency, all Parks and Recreation facilities and programs will be closed or canceled.”<\/p>\n
