What’s Happening at the Botanical Conservatory in February<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peter Pan Exhibit<\/strong>: Through – April 10
\nJoin Peter Pan this winter at the Conservatory as he whisks Wendy, John, and Michael Darling away to Neverland. There they meet Peter’s loyal Lost Boys and the tiny fairy Tinker Bell, have adventures with the Indian princess Tiger Lily, and battle the evil Captain Hook. Explore the Lost Boys’ camp, the Indian Tribe’s village, and the Pirates’ ship – a sort of playground in the midst of the winter gardens. Watch out for the Croc! And don’t miss our special Peter Pan event on Saturday, February 5, 10 am-3 pm. Sponsored by the Wilson Family Foundation and Media 401. Peter Pan Day<\/strong>: Saturday, February 5, 10 am – 3 pm
\nPut a happy thought in your heart and search for Peter Pan’s shadow, join Captain Hook’s crew, get a tattoo, make an edible fairy wand covered in pixie dust, and play Lost Boy Games. Dress like a fairy, pirate, Peter Pan, or wear your pajamas. Take your picture with the nefarious inhabitants of Neverland. Have a little faith, get some pixie dust, and head for the first glass house where there’s fun for the entire family! Pirate drinks and refreshments will be available for purchase! $1 Night: Thursday<\/strong>, February 3, 5 – 8 pm
\nAdmission to the Conservatory is just $1 from 5 – 8 pm on the first Thursday of each month. Visit during those hours and pay only $1 per person, adult or child. (Ages 2 and under are still admitted free.) Enjoy the Peter Pan exhibit as well as the Tropical and Desert Gardens.<\/p>\n

Science Fun for Everyone: Electricity<\/strong>
\nFebruary 12 & 19, 11 am & 1 pm, and February 17, 6 pm
\nAnyone can be a scientist — it doesn’t require a fancy degree to explore the wonders of our world. From the simple act of flipping on a light switch to the excitement of shuffling around and giving someone a zap, electricity is all around us. In this program, you can create a circuit, make a motor, study a solar cell, and much more. Come prepared to have a shockingly good time, and don’t worry, batteries are definitely included. Regular Conservatory admission applies: $5\/adult, $3\/child age 3-17. Participants in NISTEM (www.nistem.org<\/a>) can earn points for attending. For more information, call (260) 427-6440.<\/p>\n

February Art Exhibit<\/strong>: Jodi Hattery
\nJodi has been a lifelong photography enthusiast. She has exhibited her photography since 2003, winning numerous local- to international-level awards. In 2009 she opened her own studio in Van Wert, Ohio. Jodi has published a photo book called Forest Secrets and has a second book in the works. She is a proud military wife with three children to whom she is passing along her love of photography.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
