Courtesy photo.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In tonight&#8217;s City Council meeting, Councilman Tim Pape (5th-D), proposed that the City should turn operations of the 911 call center over to the County.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Pape had just asked about the budget of the call center and then sated, &#8220;I&#8217;m wondering if we can just do what the County did with the bridges, and say we can&#8217;t afford it any more&#8230;&#8221; \u00c2\u00a0He then went on to suggest turning it over to the County citing their earlier abdication of bridge responsibility as the precedence. \u00c2\u00a0Anyway, I&#8217;ll let the full audio recording speak for itself. \u00c2\u00a0I will warn you that Councilman Tim Pape speaks, then Councilwoman Liz Brown comments. \u00c2\u00a0She went on to ask some questions of City Controller Pat Roller who was in front of the Council at the time. \u00c2\u00a0At the 2:23 mark, Pape responds to Brown&#8217;s comments, almost it will seem without pause, but the reality was there was some unrelated discussion between. \u00c2\u00a0Later in the meeting, Pape stated he was half-serious about his proposal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/icons\/sound_clip.gif\" alt=\"mp3 audio file\" \/>\u00c2\u00a0mp3 audio file of Pape&#8217;s comments<\/p>\n<h3>Related Images:<\/h3><div class=\"ngg-related-gallery\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/gallery\/cityoffw\/71710.jpg\"\n\t\t\ttitle=\"Mayor Tom Henry shakes hands with Allen County Councilman Paul Moss after the press conference announcing his decision to seek a referendum vote on the gaming issue.
