“New” Commissioner Brown Takes Oath of Office<\/strong>

(December 30, 2010) – Allen County’s newest member of the Board of Commissioners was sworn in to office today.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n

Commissioner Therese Brown joined fellow Commissioner Linda Bloom and other County officials who were elected this past November in taking the oath of office during inauguration ceremonies at the Allen County Courthouse.<\/p>\n

Brown succeeds Bill Brown, no relation, as commissioner from the County’s second district. Bill Brown chose not to seek reelection.<\/p>\n

Therese Brown just completed serving her second term as the Allen County Clerk of the Circuit and Superior Courts. Prior to that elected position, she served as County Auditor from 1995-2002. She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Association of Indiana Counties, a statewide organization that represents all 92 counties of Indiana.<\/p>\n

Linda Bloom will be starting her fifth consecutive term on the Board of Commissioners from Allen County’s third district. She previously served as County Treasurer and County Auditor before becoming the first woman elected to the Board of Commissioners.<\/p>\n
