Mad Ants Double Header This Weekend<\/strong>
\nSaturday is Pacers Night, Sunday is Toys for Tots Collection<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(December 8, 2010)- The Fort Wayne Mad Ants will look to add to their two game winning streak this weekend as they take on the Texas Legends in a Saturday, Sunday double-header. The Mad Ants are 4-2 in the first six games for the best start in franchise history.<\/p>\n

The Legends, in their inaugural season, are coached by Women’s Basketball Hall of Famer Nancy Lieberman and are off to a hot 5-1 start. The team also features Joe Alexander, a former Milwaukee Buck who was assigned to the Mad Ants last season.<\/p>\n

Saturday night’s game will feature Boomer and the Indiana Pacers entertainment squad for Pacers’ affiliate night. Fans who wear Pacers gear to the game will receive 50% off of their admission. The Mad Ants will also be hosting Fort Wayne area Boy Scouts for the 4th annual Boy Scout night. Tip-off is at 7:30pm.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s game will feature Lindsay’s Allen County Twirlers at halftime for a 5:00pm game. This special baton twirling performance is dedicated to serving a greater purpose as it will benefit the Fort Wayne Marine Corp Toys for Tots Foundation and the underprivileged children this organization supports. The 160 new toys being used as props during this halftime show have been purchased by the baton students and their families to donate to Toys for Tots after the performance. Mad Ants fans are also encouraged to bring new unwrapped toys to the game on Sunday to support the cause.<\/p>\n

NBA Development League<\/strong>
\nThe NBA Development League, founded in 2001, is the NBA’s official minor league whose teams have direct affiliations to NBA franchises. For the 2010-11 season, the league will feature 16 teams – including the debut of the Texas Legends. A proven developer of talent, 20 percent of players in the NBA at the conclusion of the 2009-10 season boasted NBA D-League experience, while the league continues to develop coaches, referees, and front-office staff for the NBA and its teams. In fostering the league’s connection to the community, its teams, players and staff promote health and wellness, support local needs and interests, and assist in educational development through NBA D-League Cares programs. The NBA D-League also advances the game of basketball as the research and development arm of the NBA.
