{"id":15264,"date":"2010-12-04T14:27:27","date_gmt":"2010-12-04T19:27:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/?p=15264"},"modified":"2010-12-04T14:27:27","modified_gmt":"2010-12-04T19:27:27","slug":"commissioners-approve-revised-highway-conversion-policy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2010\/12\/04\/commissioners-approve-revised-highway-conversion-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Commissioners approve revised Highway Conversion Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/icons\/AC_seal.jpg\" alt=\"Allen County Board of Commissioners Seal\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Press release from the Allen County Board of Commissioners:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Commissioners Approve Revised Highway Conversion Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>(December 3, 2010) &#8211; The Allen County Board of Commissioners today unanimously approved changes to the County&#8217;s highway conversion policy.<\/p>\n<p>The policy outlines procedures and guidelines for changing stone roads in the county to chip and seal surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>The revisions to the conversion policy include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An improved process for securing right-of-way by requiring legal descriptions;<\/li>\n<li>A fairer and more equitable evaluating system for road projects; and<\/li>\n<li>A cost share between the County and residents of eminent domain procedures (per available funding within the Allen County Highway Department).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The revised policy was originally presented to the Board of Commissioners at its legislative session on November 19.
