All train and riverboat departures and arrivals will take place at Schwiebert Riverfront Park right on the banks of the Mississippi River.<\/p>\n<p>Rail and riverboat excursions are just part of the fun! Steam and Diesel Locomotives from around the country will be on display and open for tours and photo opportunities. Model Train collectors and organizations will feature beautiful model train layouts under the protection of large tents, and vendors from around the globe will be selling unique, one-of-a-kind train items and mementos you won&#8217;t find anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>Getting around the festival grounds will be fun too! Scaled down miniature trains will be hauling passengers of all ages. Located on the Mississippi River the Quad Cities is made up of the riverfront cities of Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa, and Moline, East Moline and Rock Island in Illinois. The area is just a 2-\u00c2\u00bd hour drive from Des Moines, Iowa, and Chicago, Illinois. It is easily accessible via I-80, I-74, I-88 and several major state highways. The region is also served by the Quad City International Airport (MLI) located in Moline, Illinois.
