Saint Alban’s youth to perform “Nativity Idol”<\/strong><\/p>\n

(November 19, 2010) – As advent season is fast approaching, Saint Alban’s Episcopal Church of Fort Wayne invites the public to mark their calendars for several upcoming events. Nativity Idol<\/strong>, Dec. 19
\nSaint Alban’s Youth Group will debut a new annual tradition with the performance of the Christmas play, Nativity Idol, at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 19. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Nativity Idol is a Christmas version of American Idol, with hilarious judges and contestants auditioning for a part in the Nativity. The play will also include Christmas songs sung by soloists, the entire youth group, and a few for the congregation to join in and sing. Please come and enjoy the many talents of our youth! A potluck dinner will be served following the performance. Admission is free, but please bring a can good or non-perishable item to donate to the Saint Alban’s Food Bank. A potluck reception\/dinner will follow the performance, for those who would like to stay and visit afterwards.<\/p>\nSaint Nicholas Party<\/strong>, Dec. 5
\nSaint Alban’s will host its annual St. Nicholas Party at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5. All children and youth are welcome to enjoy some fun activities and learn the story of St. Nicholas.<\/p>\nFirst Service of Christmas<\/strong>
\nOur first Christmas worship service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. Celebrate with us this great and marvelous mystery of the birth of God among us, Immanuel, God with us! At this service our children will be the messengers of the glorious truth that God sent His Son into the world to be our Savior.<\/p>\nCarols<\/strong>
\nJoin us at 10:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve as we lift our voices in song, even as the angels did on that first Christmas night, as they sang of our Savior’s birth.<\/p>\nSecond Service of Christmas<\/strong>
\nOn this solemn night in the life of the Church, we gather at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve to worship the Lord of lords and King of kings, who left His heavenly throne to become one of us that we might be covered with His righteousness and thus be reconciled to God.<\/p>\nChristmas Day Service<\/strong>
