Mad Ants Announce Returning and Affiliated Players<\/strong>
\nChris Kramer one of three affiliated players added to the training camp roster<\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

(November 1, 2010) – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that nine players have been added to the 2010-2011 training camp roster. These players include five returners, three affiliated players, and one player invited from local player open try-outs. Huntington North standout and Purdue alum, Chris Kramer, highlights the first round of training camp invitees.<\/p>\n

The Mad Ants organization will hold a press conference on Wednesday, November 3rd at 11:00am at Huntington North High School to announce the signing of Kramer, the first local athlete to be named a Mad Ant.<\/p>\n

Returning players from last season include Anthony Kent, Carlos English, and Rod Wilmont. 2008-09 Mad Ants All-Stars, Walker Russell Jr. and Chris Hunter, will also make a return to Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n

The team has acquired Kramer, Billy Rush, and Tory Jackson as affiliated players from the Milwaukee Bucks training camp.<\/p>\n

Jackson, a former Notre Dame standout, finished his senior season averaging 9.6 points and 5.3 assists per game as the point guard for the Fighting Irish. Rush, a 6’7″ shooting guard out of Robert Morris, averaged 15.8 points and 7.8 rebounds as a senior.<\/p>\n

Nick Boyd, a 6’7″ forward out of Barber Scotia College, earned a training camp roster spot from the team’s local player open try-outs.<\/p>\n

The remaining eight spots on the training camp roster will be set this evening starting at 7:00pm, as the Mad Ants have the tenth pick in the NBA D-League Draft. Coverage of the draft will be updated live on the NBA D-League’s website<\/span>.<\/p>\n

NBA Development League<\/strong>:
\nThe NBA Development League, founded in 2001, is the NBA’s official minor league and features 16 teams with direct affiliations to NBA teams. The league has produced 15 percent of the players on 2007-08 end-of-season NBA rosters and continues to develop current NBA coaches and referees. In fostering the league’s connection to the community, its teams, players and staff promote youth basketball, support local needs and interests, and assist in educational development through NBA D-League Cares programs. The NBA D-League also advances the game of basketball as the research and development arm of the NBA.
