Indiana University Alumni Association to Hold 14th Annual IU Blood Donor Challenge<\/strong>
\nThe 14th annual Indiana University Blood Donor Challenge will take place across the state and throughout the nation from now until Oct. 22, 2010<\/em>.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Indiana University Alumni Association has challenged Indiana University fans throughout the U.S. and Indiana to partner with them to reach their goal of collecting 3,000 pints of blood during this event.<\/p>\n

“The Red Cross appreciates all IU students and fans who participate in this event to help save lives,” said Sharyn Whitman, CEO for the Indiana-Ohio Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross. “We encourage all Hoosiers affiliated with IU to schedule a blood donation appointment before October 22 and make a lifesaving difference.”<\/p>\n

Blood is needed by cancer patients, people with blood disorders, premature babies, transplant recipients, trauma victims, and more. Steady and consistent blood donations are key to a strong blood supply.<\/p>\n

Donors can cast their donation to the IU Blood Donor Challenge at the following American Red Cross donor centers:<\/p>\n
