Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown<\/strong><\/p>\n

(September 6, 2010) – Rediscover your own backyard during the 12th annual Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown celebration – hosted by the Fort Wayne\/Allen County Convention and Visitors Bureau – on Sunday, September 12th, from 12 noon – 5 pm. On this day Fort Wayne residents with a Be a Tourist in Your Own Hometown passport will be able to visit 11 area attractions and museums – FOR FREE!<\/p>\n

Passports provide free admission to 11 of Fort Wayne’s attractions, including the African\/African-American History Museum, Allen County Courthouse, Artlink, Embassy Theatre, Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Historic Fort Wayne, History Center, Science Central, The Lincoln Tower, and Parkview Field!<\/p>\n

Passport holders will receive free admission to these participating venues! Passports may be picked up at any Fort Wayne Scott’s or Kroger location, and at the Convention and Visitors Bureau Visitors Center – located downtown at 1021 S. Calhoun Street. In addition, a one-page passport can be downloaded at www.VisitFortWayne.com.<\/p>\n

“It is a great opportunity to see everything that Fort Wayne has to offer,” explains Dan O’Connell, President of the Convention and Visitors Bureau. “And in turn, they can become better ambassadors for their community, as they become more familiar with all there is to do as a tourist in Fort Wayne!”<\/p>\n

  1. Pick up a passport at any Fort Wayne Scott’s or Kroger’s location. Or download a one-page\u00c2\u00a0passport online at www.VisitFortWayne.com.<\/li>\n
  2. On Sunday, September 12th, you will be able to visit 11 of Fort Wayne’s participating\u00c2\u00a0attractions and museums – FOR FREE! Just use your passport to gain free admission to all\u00c2\u00a0attractions listed within – one passport good for entire party.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
