Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 120 Months in Prison<\/strong>
\nFor Distribution and Possession of Child Pornography<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 5, 2026) \u2013 On October 1, 2026, Christopher Koogler, 28, of Fort Wayne, Indiana was sentenced by Chief Judge Holly A. Brady after pleading guilty to distribution, and possession of child pornography, announced United States Attorney Adam L. Mildred.<\/p>\n

Koogler was sentenced to 120 months in prison to be followed by 10 years of supervised release. Restitution will be determined at a later date.<\/p>\n

\u201cChristopher Koogler will spend the next ten years in prison for his actions. These crimes require severe punishment to deter others from engaging in this heinous behavior. The U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office will use every resource at our disposal to aggressively prosecute these offenders and get justice for their victims. This successful prosecution was made possible by the strong multi-agency partnership of Homeland Security Investigations, the Fort Wayne Police Department, and the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office of Northern Indiana,\u201d said United States Attorney Adam L. Mildred.<\/p>\n

\u201cChild sexual exploitation destroys lives, and those who commit these crimes will be held accountable,\u201d said HSI Chicago Special Agent in Charge Matthew Scarpino. \u201cThis sentence delivers justice for the victims and reflects the severity of the defendant\u2019s conduct. HSI will continue to pursue offenders, protect children, and stand with our law enforcement partners against this abuse.\u201d<\/p>\n

This case was investigated by the Homeland Security Investigations with assistance from the Fort Wayne Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Lesley J. Miller Lowery<\/p>\n

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and CEOS, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
