Gov. Braun Announces 300 High-Wage Jobs at New Amazon Manufacturing Facility<\/strong><\/p>\n

Greenwood, Indiana (September 24, 2026) \u2013 Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced today that Amazon will invest more than $100 million to establish a new manufacturing facility in central Indiana, creating 300 skilled manufacturing and engineering jobs by the end of 2028.<\/p>\n

“Amazon’s decision to locate this facility in Indiana is a powerful testament to the strength of our manufacturing workforce, our world-class infrastructure, and our commitment to creating an environment where businesses of all sizes can grow and thrive,” said Gov. Braun. “This $100 million investment will bring 300 high-paying, skilled jobs to the community that offer Hoosier families real careers in advanced manufacturing. Indiana has always been a state that builds things, and Amazon’s investment reinforces our position as the nation’s leader in manufacturing.”<\/p>\n

Amazon will purchase and equip a 585,000-square-foot facility at 1175 Collins Road in Greenwood to produce products that power the company\u2019s fulfillment and robotics network across North America. The facility, which is expected to launch in 2028, will integrate advanced fabrication, robotic welding, automated powder coating and assembly capabilities under one roof \u2013 supported by AWS and AI-powered smart manufacturing systems and robotics.<\/p>\n

New roles coming to the facility include Computer Numerical Control (CNC) operators, welders, powder coating technicians, assemblers, manufacturing engineers, quality assurance specialists, controls engineers and program managers. The positions will offer average salaries of nearly $100,000 annually.<\/p>\n

Indiana has a world-class manufacturing workforce and business-friendly environment, and we\u2019re excited to continue creating opportunities for people across the state and helping them learn the new skills they need to take advantage of those opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amazon selected the Greenwood site based on Indiana\u2019s unmatched manufacturing workforce, competitive cost structure, world-class logistics infrastructure and business-friendly environment. The central Indiana region also offers exceptional access to manufacturing talent, including a pipeline of more than 2,500 industrial engineering graduates annually from institutions across the state, including Purdue University, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Ivy Tech Community College.<\/p>\n

The state\u2019s central location and logistics infrastructure \u2013 ranked 13th nationally for transportation \u2013 provide direct access to Amazon\u2019s fulfillment network across North America, enabling efficient distribution of manufactured products to facilities nationwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cIndiana\u2019s commitment to creating a pro-growth business climate with an unmatched workforce continues to pay dividends for Hoosiers, attracting new investments and most importantly, high-paying career opportunities for Hoosiers,\u201d said Indiana Secretary of Commerce Chuck Goodrich. \u201cAmazon\u2019s new facility will support our state\u2019s future-focused advanced manufacturing sector, which supports more than 518,000 jobs, putting Hoosiers at the center of making the products that power the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amazon has invested more than $40 billion in Indiana and created more than 27,000 Hoosier jobs since first launching operations in the state in 2008. What started with a single fulfillment center has grown into one of the company\u2019s most significant operational footprints in the country \u2013 spanning fulfillment and sortation centers, robotic facilities, delivery stations, same-day delivery sites, data centers, wind and solar farms, and carbon-free energy projects.<\/p>\n

The company is also a partner in the state\u2019s workforce training and development initiatives. Since 2019, more than 4,200 Amazon employees in Indiana have participated in the company\u2019s free education and skills training programs through Amazon\u2019s Career Choice program, opening new pathways to higher-paying careers and fulfilling opportunities. Thirty-two education partners across Indiana participate in the program, which pre-pays tuition for employees pursuing in-demand certifications and degrees \u2013 from cloud computing to nursing to skilled trades. In addition, Amazon offers training for members of communities throughout state, including Amazon Future Engineer for K-12 students and AWS Educate for early-career talent – part of the company’s Future Ready 2030 initiative to prepare 50 million people with the skills needed to succeed in the future of work.<\/p>\n
