Neighborhood infrastructure project receives Committee Session approval at City Council<\/strong>
\nCommitment to investing in neighborhoods continues<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 16, 2026) \u2013 Fort Wayne\u2019s investment in neighborhood infrastructure improvements continues. A project to improve intersection safety led by the City of Fort Wayne\u2019s Public Works Division received Committee Session approval from City Council last evening. Final approval will occur at a future meeting. The planned improvement total is $339,862.<\/p>\n

The Bluffton Road and Winchester Road Intersection Improvement Project<\/a> improves intersection geometrics by moving the stop bar closer to the intersection as well as expanding the concrete island to improve pedestrian safety and define a dedicated right turn for northbound Bluffton Road. There will also be updates to pedestrian safety by providing ADA compliant pedestrian signals and ADA curb ramps.<\/p>\n

Under Mayor Sharon Tucker\u2019s leadership the City is investing $37 million in neighborhood infrastructure enhancements this year.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
