Five Parkview hospitals earn \u2018A\u2019s in spring Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades<\/strong>
\nParkview continues to lead state with top grades for quality<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (May 6, 2026) \u2013 Five Parkview hospitals received \u201cA\u201d grades in the spring Hospital Safety Grades released by The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit focused on patient safety in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.<\/p>\n

Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC), Parkview Hospital Randallia, Parkview Huntington Hospital, Parkview Noble Hospital, and Parkview Whitley Hospital received an \u201cA\u201d in Leapfrog\u2019s semiannual safety rating. Parkview Bryan Hospital received a \u201cB\u201d grade, while Parkview DeKalb Hospital and Parkview Logansport Hospital received \u201cC\u201d grades.<\/p>\n

Leapfrog assigns an A-F grade to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.<\/p>\n

Parkview\u2019s 5 A\u2019s in Indiana once again led the state. Leapfrog issued 16 \u201cA\u201d grades across Indiana this spring, and no other system received more than two \u201cA\u201d scores.<\/p>\n

Parkview\u2019s hospitals continued to build their streaks of quality this spring. Parkview Regional Medical Center (PRMC) has scored an \u201cA\u201d on 24 of 26 Leapfrog report cards dating back to 2013. Parkview Noble Hospital has received an \u201cA\u201d for eight consecutive report cards, while Parkview Huntington Hospital and Parkview Whitley Hospital\/Parkview Kosciusko Hospital have received six straight \u201cA\u201ds. Parkview Randallia Hospital, which was rated separately from PRMC for the first time in fall 2025, has earned \u201cA\u201d grades on both report cards since.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur results in the Spring Hospital Safety Grades reflect the ongoing efforts and commitment to patient safety of our co-workers, providers and leadership\u201d said Dr. Jeffrey Boord, chief quality and safety officer, Parkview Health. \u201cLeapfrog\u2019s Hospital Safety Grade program provides essential accountability and transparency for U.S. hospitals and the patients they serve. Parkview participates with Leapfrog as part of our overall safety and quality program to ensure we are sustaining leading practices in patient safety and continuously reducing risk of patient harm.\u201d<\/p>\n

Parkview LaGrange Hospital, Parkview Wabash Hospital and Parkview Montpelier Hospital are not graded because the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade does not assess critical access hospitals due to limitations on publicly available data from those smaller facilities. Parkview Orthopedic Hospital is also not graded by Leapfrog because it is a specialty hospital.<\/p>\n

Although there are 72 Indiana hospitals and 114 Ohio hospitals that are eligible to participate, Leapfrog is currently not issuing scores to those hospitals who do not provide additional data via an annual survey.<\/p>\n

Parkview has participated with Leapfrog since it launched the Hospital Safety Grade program in 2012.<\/p>\n

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade stands as the only hospital ratings program focused solely on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day in the United States. This program is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.<\/p>\n
