The total investment is $520,350 in 14 non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n<p>This cycle\u2019s funded programs serve a diverse range of populations including treatment and recovery, pregnant and postpartum women, education, harm reduction and co-occurring conditions, justice-involved youth, school-based prevention, and veterans.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2025, the Mayor has announced investments totaling nearly $1.5 million through the initial two rounds of funding and an additional $40,000 in mini grants.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Fort Wayne\u2019s opioid settlement payments are scheduled to run through 2038. In 2025, Mayor Tucker created the <a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/tag\/city-of-fort-wayne-national-opioid-settlement-committee\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Opioid Settlement Committee<\/a>. The purpose of the committee is to recommend usage of the funds, convene individuals and groups to explore causes and responses to priority issues related to opioid and substance use, and educate the community about opioid and substance use.<\/p>\n<p>The National Opioid Settlement Committee oversaw the review of the proposals and made recommendations on which entities should receive resources.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recipients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>TREATMENT AND RECOVERY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Inspiration Ministries<\/strong> &#8211; $50,000 &#8211; <em>Heritage House Recovery Residence<\/em><br \/>\nSupports outpatient treatment, peer support, and case management at Heritage House, a 24-bed certified recovery residence for adult men, at least half of whom are Fort Wayne residents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Redemption House<\/strong> &#8211; $50,000 &#8211; <em>Redemption House Transitional Living<\/em><br \/>\nFunds a four-phase transitional living program offering wraparound residential recovery services to women exiting incarceration or short-term treatment for opioid use disorder.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Whitington Homes and Services for Children and Families, Inc<\/strong>. &#8211; $50,000 &#8211; <em>Employment and Recovery Program, Phase 2<\/em><br \/>\nProvides employment and family-reunification programming for justice-involved adults with opioid use disorder, addressing the elevated overdose risk individuals face in the weeks following release from incarceration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freedom House Inc<\/strong>. &#8211; $32,500 &#8211; <em>Capital Project &#8211; Enhanced Kitchen Safety<\/em><br \/>\nFunds kitchen safety upgrades at Freedom House&#8217;s transitional living facility for men recovering from substance use disorder, helping the organization maintain code-compliant food service for residents.<\/p>\n<p><strong>New Wave Behavior Management, LLC dba New Wave Wellness<\/strong> &#8211; $32,500 &#8211; <em>Project Live Free: From Crisis to Community<\/em><br \/>\nCoordinates recovery housing, licensed counseling, peer recovery support, and related services for Fort Wayne adults with opioid or substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health conditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amani Family Services<\/strong> &#8211; $30,350.85 &#8211; <em>Multicultural Substance Use Treatment and Prevention<\/em><br \/>\nExpands Amani&#8217;s substance use support program, the region&#8217;s only culturally and linguistically responsive treatment option for immigrant and refugee residents of Allen County affected by substance use disorder.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>PREGNANT &#038; POSTPARTUM WOMEN<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Mother&#8217;s Hope<\/strong> &#8211; $40,000 &#8211; <em>A Mother&#8217;s Hope Program Support<\/em><br \/>\nSupports wraparound housing and recovery services for pregnant women experiencing homelessness who are affected by opioid use disorder and co-occurring conditions, combining supportive housing with individualized care as residents prepare for motherhood and long-term recovery.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Healthier Moms and Babies<\/strong> &#8211; $40,000 &#8211; <em>Strengthening Maternal Recovery and Infant Outcomes<\/em><br \/>\nExpands home-based, family-centered services for pregnant and postpartum women with opioid use disorder and their infants, providing coordinated treatment, recovery support, and follow-up care through 18 months postpartum.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Parkview Hospital, Inc<\/strong>. &#8211; $32,500 &#8211; <em>Parkview Perinatal Substance Use Disorder Program<\/em><br \/>\nSupports care for pregnant and postpartum individuals with substance use disorder and their infants, including babies affected by neonatal abstinence syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ivy Tech Foundation, Inc<\/strong>. &#8211; $32,500 &#8211; <em>Addiction Studies Certificate<\/em><br \/>\nFunds addiction studies certificate training for nonprofit and community agency staff, building local capacity to serve clients affected by opioid and substance use disorder.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HARM REDUCTION AND CO-OCCURRING CONDITIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Courageous Healing<\/strong> &#8211; $32,500 &#8211; <em>Culturally Centered Mental Health Counseling Services &#038; Support<\/em><br \/>\nSupports staffing for Courageous Healing&#8217;s Mobile Crisis Response Team, which provides trauma-informed, culturally grounded behavioral health crisis response to Allen County residents affected with OUD &#038; SUD, with a focus on underserved and historically marginalized communities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>JUSTICE-INVOLVED YOUTH<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Building a Stronger Family<\/strong> &#8211; $25,000 &#8211; <em>Love You to Life<\/em><br \/>\nFunds a prevention and intervention initiative for justice-involved youth ages 12 to 17 referred through Allen County&#8217;s juvenile court system, addressing trauma and risk factors linked to future substance misuse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHOOL-BASED PREVENTION<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Schools Care Inc. dba School Care Team<\/strong> &#8211; $32,500 &#8211; <em>Youth-Based Protective Factors Initiative<\/em><br \/>\nDelivers school- and community-based prevention programming to at least 1,000 Fort Wayne children and youth, along with roughly 200 parents and caregivers, to build protective factors against future substance misuse.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>VETERANS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>One K9 Corp<\/strong> &#8211; $40,000 &#8211; <em>The F.O.B<\/em>.<br \/>\nSupports the Forward Operating Base Recovery &#038; Reintegration Program, a veteran-led peer recovery initiative serving veterans, including justice-involved veterans, recovering from opioid and substance use disorders, along with their families.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Since Mayor Tucker took office, she has emphasized the importance of programs that are people-focused and needed in the community.
