Governor Braun Makes College More Affordable with Tuition Freeze at Every Indiana Public College and University for Second Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 2026-27 academic year marks the second year of Governor Braun\u2019s statewide tuition freeze for in-state undergraduate students.<\/p>\n

Indianapolis, Indiana (August 26, 2026) \u2013 As students across Indiana return to campus for the new academic year, Governor Mike Braun\u2019s historic statewide tuition freeze is making college more affordable at all 15 of Indiana\u2019s public colleges and universities, including main and regional campuses.<\/p>\n

At Gov. Braun\u2019s request, Indiana\u2019s public higher education institutions froze tuition and mandatory fees for in\u2011state undergraduate students for the 2025-26 academic year, and they will continue this freeze through the 2026-27 year.<\/p>\n

\u201cHoosier students are returning to campus with tuition frozen at every public college and university in Indiana for the second year. Indiana\u2019s public institutions answered my call to find efficiencies and put students and their families first. The Braun Tuition Freeze<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gov. Braun called on Indiana\u2019s public colleges and universities to find efficiencies, eliminate redundancies, and streamline services without compromising the quality of the education they provide.<\/p>\n

All 15 institutions responded by committing to a 0% increase in tuition and mandatory fees for in-state undergraduate students for two consecutive academic years. The Indiana Commission for Higher Education unanimously endorsed the Governor\u2019s recommendation.<\/p>\n

This marks the first time in Indiana history that every public higher education institution in the state has simultaneously held tuition and mandatory fees flat for two consecutive years.<\/p>\n
