Major tasks include conducting Safety Inspections, New Entrant Safety Audits, and Compliance Reviews to ensure compliance with equipment and hours-of-service regulations.<\/p>\n<p>CVED is also tasked with enforcing Indiana\u2019s size and weight laws and ensuring that commercial carriers are properly registered and paying their fair share of fuel tax dollars. Additionally, they assist in the investigation of commercial vehicle crashes (post-crash inspections) and manage the annual school bus inspection program.<\/p>\n<p>From June 15-July 15, 2026, because of their enforcement efforts, ISP CVED accomplished the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Total CMV Inspections Completed<\/strong> \u2013 4,703<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total Out of Service Drivers \u2013 575<\/li>\n<li>Total Out of Service Vehicles \u2013 597<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Total Number of Oversize Violations<\/strong> \u2013 46<br \/>\n<strong>Total Number of Overweight Violations<\/strong> \u2013 256<br \/>\n<strong>Total Number of Violations<\/strong> &#8211; 8,650<\/p>\n<p>During the month of July, ISP CVED participated in the following collaborative efforts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>July 6 \u2013 10, joint enforcement effort with our state partner agencies in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio focusing on each state\u2019s \u201cmove over\/slow down for stationary vehicle\u201d laws.<\/li>\n<li>July 12 \u2013 July 18, participated in Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance\u2019s annual Operation Safe Driver program. This is a North American-wide project focusing on unsafe driving behaviors by commercial motor vehicle operators.<\/li>\n<li>July 19 \u2013 25, ISP CVED personnel participated in the Six State Trooper Project which was a move over\/slow down focused initiative.<\/li>\n<li>July 28 \u2013 30, Operation Highway Shield with Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, FMCSA, HSI, ICE and FEMA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ISP CVED\u2019s enforcement efforts are part of Governor Braun\u2019s public safety platform to ensure safe environments to travel, work and live for all Hoosiers and for those who traverse the \u201cCrossroads of America\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/documents-archive\/document-archive-state-of-indiana\/indiana-state-police-commercial-vehicle-enforcement-division-statistics\/\" target=\"_blank\">Indiana State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division Statistics Index<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Related Images:<\/h3><div class=\"ngg-related-gallery\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/gallery\/in\/trooper_noone.jpg\"\n\t\t\ttitle=\"Indiana State Police Trooper Chris Noone.
