The Fort Wayne TinCaps scored seven runs in the 11th inning to win the final three games of the last series of the campaign with a 10-3 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts.<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne Wins Season Finale in Extra Innings<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lansing, Michigan (September 6, 2026) \u2013 The Fort Wayne TinCaps scored seven runs in the 11th inning to win the final three games of the last series of the campaign with a 10-3 victory over the Lansing Lugnuts (Athletics affiliate).<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne (56-74, 29-35) dialed up the long ball in the 11th frame twice to seal the deal. Shortstop Yimy Tovar clobbered his first High-A home run that just stayed inside the left-field foul pole. The three-run blast gave the \u2018Caps the lead for good.<\/p>\n

In his 251st game in Fort Wayne, designated hitter Rosman Verdugo hit his 15th home run of the season and 29th of his career with a grand slam. Verdugo\u2019s grand slam is the second one hit out by a TinCap this season, with the other coming off the bat of Justin DeCriscio at Dayton on June 12.<\/p>\n

Second baseman Dylan Grego tied the game up in the eighth frame with a triple off the center field fence, his first High-A three-bagger. Left fielder Ryan Gerety reached base safely in four of his six plate appearances, and first baseman Yoiber Ocopio collected his first three-hit game at the High-A level. The TinCaps finish the season with 33 come-from-behind victories and a 7-6 record in extra frames in 2026.<\/p>\n

Lansing (56-73, 27-37) got five shutout innings from left-hander Tucker Novotny in his final start of 2026. He struck out six and gave up two hits while walking one batter.<\/p>\n
