Ocopio Hits First High-A Homer in Loss<\/strong><\/p>\n

Lansing, Michigan (September 3, 2026) \u2013 The Fort Wayne TinCaps struck first but allowed eight unanswered runs in their 8-2 loss against the Lansing Lugnuts (Athletics affiliate) on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne (53-74, 26-35) got their two runs on one swing from first baseman Yoiber Ocopio. It was the first round-tripper for Ocopio in his 14th High-A ballgame, and it came with one out in the second inning. Thursday was also his first multi-RBI game in the Midwest League since making his debut on August 5.<\/p>\n

Lansing (56-70, 27-35) sent eight batters to the dish in the third and fourth frames and scored five runs in the stretch. Left fielder Jake Reinisch plated a pair in the third frame on his two-run double, and would later drive in one more on a single in the seventh. Reinisch reached base safely in four of his five plate appearances and has now reached base in his last 42 games.<\/p>\n

Right fielder Rodney Green Jr. collected his fourth three-hit game of the season in the win. Three of those performances have come at home, with his only three-hit effort on the road occurring on May 9 against South Bend.<\/p>\n
