\nFort Wayne part of national effort to celebrate and expand entrepreneurship<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 3, 2026) \u2013 Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker today announced that she has joined \u201cAmerica the Entrepreneurial<\/a>\u201d as a Founding Mayor. \u201cAmerica the Entrepreneurial\u201d is a national campaign to renew America\u2019s entrepreneurial promise in the 250th anniversary year of the United States.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica the Entrepreneurial\u201d calls for a revival of the spirit that built our nation \u2013 a promise that anyone should be able to shape a better future.<\/p>\n

Esli and Johnny Perez are an example of an entrepreneurial success story in Fort Wayne. Today, Mayor Tucker highlighted one of their businesses, The Compound, home to Papi’s Pizza and Brixton Barbecue<\/a>, located at 224 E. Wallace St.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmerica the Entrepreneurial\u201d is conceived and orchestrated by Right to Start<\/a>, a national nonprofit organization advancing entrepreneurship as a civic priority. It has already attracted a National Advisory Council of leaders of entrepreneurship, a list of whom is available at www.americatheentrepreneurial.org\/team<\/a>. The campaign will expand to engage individuals, organizations, and government leaders and their jurisdictions nationwide in the months ahead.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

The campaign recently released three playbooks<\/a> that are designed to engage and activate those three separate audiences \u2013 individuals, organizations (\u201cpartners\u201d), and government leaders and their jurisdictions \u2013 in support of entrepreneurship. Each playbook contains a list of possible actions \u2013 ranging from easy to more involved \u2013 as well as explanatory information.<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne is a recognized leader in entrepreneurship achievements. For example, the Summit City Entrepreneur and Enterprise District (SEED) is a quasi-governmental entity, in partnership with the City of Fort Wayne, that promotes entrepreneurial initiatives focusing on community, economic, and neighborhood development, with a focal point on the district\u2019s approximately seven square miles.<\/p>\n

SEED boundaries include the major commercial corridors within Fort Wayne and are represented in all four quadrants; however, the district is primarily in the southeast quadrant of Fort Wayne. SEED is dedicated to economic prosperity through equitable business growth and stable jobs for our community. To date, more than 60 small businesses have benefitted from SEED.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s vital that we work each day to provide hope and opportunity for individuals and families looking to start a career and launch a business,\u201d said Mayor Tucker. \u201cThis new partnership will enhance our ability to meet the needs of those looking to grow and succeed in our community. Fort Wayne\u2019s future is bright and I\u2019m excited to be part of a national effort that\u2019s designed to make a lasting impact right here in our great city.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mayor Tucker today also issued a proclamation highlighting this new effort by proclaiming August 3, 2026, as America the Entrepreneurial Day in Fort Wayne.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
