That sentence has been upheld through every level of the judicial system. It is long past time to carry out the sentence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Weisheit was convicted in 2012 for the April 2010 murders of 5-year-old Caleb Lynch and 7-year-old Alyssa Lynch. He hog-tied Caleb with duct tape, placed railroad flares in the boy\u2019s underwear, lit them, and then fled the house. Alyssa was also inside the residence at the time. Both children died as the fire spread and consumed the home. Weisheit was eventually apprehended after leading officers on a high-speed chase into Kentucky; before they could detain him, he threw a knife at the pursuing officers.<\/p>\n<p>For several years, the State of Indiana paused lawful executions due to pharmaceutical companies withholding the drugs required to carry them out from the Department of Correction.
