The Fort Wayne Philharmonic Announces Andrew Constantine stepping down from his position as Music Director and Celebrates 17 Seasons of Artistic Excellence<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 5, 2026) \u2014 The Fort Wayne Philharmonic announces that Andrew Constantine, beloved Music Director since 2009, is leaving his role as Music Director.<\/p>\n

Constantine\u2019s final closing performance on May 16, 2026, marked more than the end of a season; it celebrated the culmination of an extraordinary era of artistic leadership and achievement. Over the past 17 seasons, Constantine helped transform the Philharmonic into a nationally recognized ensemble through visionary programming, artistic excellence, and a deep commitment to enriching the cultural fabric of Northeast Indiana.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn behalf of the Board of Directors, we extend our deepest gratitude for Andrew\u2019s extraordinary leadership and artistic vision,\u201d said Charles Cammack, Jr., Board Chair of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Board of Directors. \u201cHis influence reaches far beyond the stage inspiring musicians, audiences, donors, and our entire community through a legacy of excellence, innovation, and passion for music. The impact of his work will continue to shape the Philharmonic for generations to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since his appointment following an international search in 2009, Constantine elevated the Philharmonic\u2019s artistic profile through visionary programming and passionate community projects. Milestone initiatives such as the \u201cMade in America\u201d season, \u201cComposer: REVEALED\u201d series, and the powerful Violins of Hope collaboration have fostered deep community connections and affirmed music\u2019s role as a force for unity and transformation.<\/p>\n

Constantine\u2019s impact extends far beyond the concert stage. Under his leadership, the Philharmonic launched its first commercial recording in 2018 and established the International Conductors\u2019 Workshop in 2015, drawing talent and attention from around the world. His insightful podcast, \u201cA Stick with a Point,\u201d continues to highlight the inner workings of the classical music industry, shining a light on composers, producers, directors, and thought leaders.<\/p>\n
