The Fort Wayne Police Department has confirmed that a funeral escort for a fallen FWPD Officer took place earlier this evening.<\/p>\n

At one point, the escort had been seen in the Spring Street area. From an PIO email:<\/p>\n

There have been several questions regarding an escort that took place this evening, I can officially tell you an active duty officer of the Fort Wayne Police Department passed away today of natural causes. This was not duty related. We ask that you honor the family\u2019s privacy during this difficult time.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
