Indianapolis, Indiana (November 20, 2025) \u2013 On and off the field, Alec Pierce knows the value of showing up for his team. Now, the professional football player is partnering with Parkview Health to encourage fans to do the same by getting recommended cancer screenings \u2014 not only for themselves, but for the people who depend on them.<\/p>\n

The message: Screen for your team.<\/p>\n

As part of the annual My Cause, My Cleats initiative, Pierce will wear custom cleats designed by Chicago native Dillon DeJesus during games on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7.<\/p>\n

The cause is especially personal to Pierce, whose mother, Stephanie, is a breast cancer survivor. Her story helped inspire the cleat designs and the message behind them.<\/p>\n

Pierce said his mother\u2019s experience is the reason he\u2019s committed to encouraging others to get screened.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone has a team \u2014 the people who count on you and support you,\u201d Pierce said. \u201cMy family has always been my team, and my mom\u2019s cancer journey is why I\u2019m committed to encouraging others to get screened. When you take care of your health, you\u2019re also taking care of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cleats were created as an extension of Parkview\u2019s Show Up for Them campaign, incorporating Parkview\u2019s colors and diamond pattern along with the \u201cScreen for Your Team\u201d theme. One cleat features a series of hands representing the people who support you \u2014 with a pink hand paying tribute to Pierce\u2019s mother and her breast cancer journey. The other includes an \u201cS\u201d-shaped cancer ribbon, designed in her honor, reinforcing the idea that getting screened is a way to show up for those who matter most.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re honored to partner with Alec in sharing such an important message,\u201d said Dr. Alan Yahanda, president, Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute. \u201cToo often, we meet patients who wish they\u2019d come in sooner. Stories like the Pierces\u2019 remind us why early detection matters and how the decision to get screened today can mean more time with the people you love down the road.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the games, four pairs of custom cleats and five jerseys autographed by Pierce will be auctioned in December to raise funds for the Parkview Health Foundation\u2019s Transformative Cancer Care Fund, which supports cancer care and resources for Parkview patients.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt the Parkview Health Foundation, our focus is making sure every patient has access to the care and support they need,\u201d said Dr. Sarah GiaQuinta, senior vice president of Community Impact, Parkview Health. \u201cThe funds raised through this partnership will directly help individuals facing a cancer diagnosis, easing burdens and opening doors to lifesaving resources.\u201d<\/p>\n
