Downtown Fort Wayne and Art This Way Announce a Group of Artists Will Install Murals at 222 Pearl Street<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 22, 2025) \u2013 Art This Way, a program of Downtown Fort Wayne, is pleased to announce that local and regional muralists Brandon Coley, Natalie Fetzer, Carly Mitchell, Mitchell Egly, and Jon Mendelson will be installing several new murals along the west and north elevations of 222 Pearl Street in Downtown Fort Wayne. The project will cover the building\u2019s cinderblock walls, leaving the historic brick untouched.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Art This Way transformed the east elevation of this building through a partnership with several local nonprofit organizations and seven local artists. The 2025 installation celebrates music and Fort Wayne\u2019s growing reputation as a \u201cmusic city,\u201d adding vibrant energy to the Downtown streetscape.<\/p>\n

\u201cMusic is a universal language that binds neighbors, families, and visitors,\u201d said Artist Brandon Coley. \u201cMy mural, Rhythms of Fort Wayne, interprets that shared experience through bold color, kinetic line work, and imagery drawn from the city\u2019s rich musical history.\u201d<\/p>\n

Artists were selected through a competitive request-for-proposal (RFP) process hosted on the Art This Way website. Through that application process, five artists were chosen to install their artwork on the wall. The Fort Wayne Public Art Commission approved the project in September.<\/p>\n

Funding for this project is provided in part by the City of Fort Wayne Fa\u00e7ade Grant Program. Public art projects funded through this program are reviewed and approved by the City\u2019s Public Art Commission. Additional sponsors include Downtown Fort Wayne and Lutheran Health Network.<\/p>\n

The public is welcome to join us on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. \u2013 8:00 p.m. at the mural site as we celebrate these local creatives and dedicate these murals.<\/p>\n
