Kids Will Have a Blast with July Classes<\/strong>
\nDeadlines Approaching<\/em><\/p>\n

The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department is offering the following July classes for children:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Printmaking for Pixies<\/strong>, Registration deadline: July 13
\nParticipants in this class will use simple printmaking techniques to decorate a variety of objects or create single prints or stationery! Gyotaku Japanese fish printing is one of the printmaking techniques used in class. Bring a white, pre-washed tee-shirt and a pillowcase or cloth for a flag. Ages 8-14. This class is on Tuesday, July 20 and July 27 from 6:30-7:30 pm. Fee: $20. Location: Lakeside Park Pavilion #2.<\/p>\n

3,2,1\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6Blast Off<\/strong>! Registration deadline: July 16
\nMembers of the Summit City Aerospace Modelers Club share their exciting and educational hobby – model rocketry. Participants will learn thrilling facts about rockets and launch their own model rocket built during this class. The club will be holding a launch before and after the program so participants will have the opportunity to see a variety of rockets launched and received. One adult must attend this program with each registered child. Ages
\n6-12. Class is Saturday July 24 from 12 – 2 pm. Fee: $18. Location: Kreager Park, North River Rd.<\/p>\n

Fun on the Run<\/strong>, Registration deadline: July 19
\nThis class features fun activities that motivate the muscles and get the heart pumping. Participants will run races and relays and listen to special guests talk about nutrition and healthy eating. Each class will consist of a warm-up, activities and stretches. Ages 6-10. Class is Monday, July 26 – Thursday, July 29 from 9 – 11 am. Fee: $44. Location: Shoaff Park Riverlodge, 6401 St. Joe Rd.<\/p>\n

Knot Quilting<\/strong>, Registration deadline: July 30
\nParticipants have the opportunity to piece, sew and knot a 35″ x 45″ lap quilt. Fabric, batting, yarn and thread will be provided. Please bring a sewing machine. If you need to use one of ours, please let us know when you register. No previous sewing experience is required. Ages 7-16. Class is Friday, August 6 from 12-4 pm. Fee: $56. Location: Community Center, 233 W. Main St.<\/p>\n
