Parkview Health advocates for life-saving cancer screenings via new \u2018Show Up for Them\u2019 campaign<\/strong>
\nInitiative aims to boost early detection rates through outreach and education<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 31, 2025) \u2013 Parkview Health has launched Show Up for Them, a new public awareness campaign encouraging adults ages 40 to 75 across northern Indiana and northwest Ohio to prioritize routine cancer screenings.<\/p>\n

The campaign aims to reduce preventable cancer deaths by helping more people detect cancer early, when treatment is most effective. The effort focuses on five key screening areas: breast, lung, colorectal, prostate and cervical cancers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know the earlier cancer is found, the better the chance for a positive outcome,\u201d said Dr. Alan Yahanda, president, Parkview Packnett Family Cancer Institute (PFCI). \u201cBut too many people put off screenings because of fear, lack of time or uncertainty. This campaign reminds our community that showing up for your screening is a way to show up for the people who matter most.\u201d<\/p>\n

Built around the message \u201cshow up for the ones you care about by showing up for your screening,\u201d the campaign implores residents to view screenings not as a chore, but as an act of love, responsibility and self-care.<\/p>\n

\u201cParkview is committed to removing barriers that often keep people from being proactive about their health,\u201d said Megan Smith, chief operating officer and senior vice president, PFCI. \u201cThrough several efforts, we\u2019re meeting people where they are to make cancer screenings as convenient as possible. Early detection not only saves lives \u2014 it can also prevent the need for more complex or costly care down the road.\u201d<\/p>\n
