The program is funded through the federal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fhwa.dot.gov\/environment\/nevi\/\" target=\"_blank\">National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure<\/a> (NEVI) program.<\/p>\n<p>On August 11, 2025, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) released <a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/wp-content\/docs\/Federal_Government\/2025\/FHA_National_Electric_Vehicle_Infrastructure_Final_Guidance.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">revised guidance<\/a> for the NEVI program, streamlining requirements and giving states greater flexibility to accelerate deployment.<br \/>\nAs a first step under the revised guidance, INDOT has resumed the contracting process for contingent awards announced in 2024.
