Residents share ideas for future improvements in southeast Fort Wayne<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (March 27, 2025) \u2013 About 150 residents attended the Southeast Strategy Update Open House this evening and contributed their ideas for future improvements in the area. The event was held at McMillen Park Community Center, 3901 Abbott St.<\/p>\n

In 2020, local leaders, residents and an advisory committee began working with the City of Fort Wayne\u2019s Community Development Division to develop the Southeast Strategy, focused on revitalization of the quadrant. It was formally adopted in 2021 as part of the All In Allen comprehensive plan. Since then, more than $2.086B in public and private investments have been made in the southeast quadrant, in areas such as parks, roads, businesses and housing. (This includes $2B for the Google Data Center.) The plan is now being updated to reflect current conditions and future projects and initiatives.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re happy to see so many people offering their ideas for potential projects and initiatives in southeast Fort Wayne,\u201d said Jonathan Leist, Community Development director. \u201cCommunity input is essential to updating the plan and ensuring it reflects what residents want to see in their neighborhoods.\u201d<\/p>\n

The City of Fort Wayne\u2019s Community Development Division works to enhance economic opportunity, build strong neighborhoods and ensure a dynamic framework for growth and development. The Division\u2019s departments include Neighborhood Code Compliance, Neighborhoods, Office of Housing and Neighborhood Services, Redevelopment\/Economic Development, and Planning and Policy<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
