Indiana Highland Games & Scottish Festival is Saturday at IPFW<\/strong><\/p>\n

With just days until the 24th annual Indiana Highland Games and Scottish Festival, the excitement is heating up on the grounds of Indiana-Purdue University Fort Wayne — the new home of the festival.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The gates open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and will remain open until 8 p.m. with bagpipe bands, live entertainment featuring Indiana talent, free children’s activities, highland animals and border collies, Scottish clan tents, genealogy assistance, living history presentations and hands-on activities, sanctioned highland athletics competitions, highland dancing exhibitions, a beer tent, Celtic foods and much more waiting to be discovered.<\/p>\n

Bands in the entertainment tent this year include the Mimi Burns Band of Fort Wayne, Hogeye Navvy of Indianapolis, Janice Furtner of Fort Wayne and others.<\/p>\n

Admission is $10 for adults and children under 12 may attend for free.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1986, the Scottish Cultural Society promotes and celebrates Scottish culture and heritage in Indiana. The society provides a variety of activities for its members and the community at large. The organization sponsors the Indiana Highland Games & Scottish Festival, one of the largest Scottish events in Indiana.<\/p>\n
