Midland, Michigan (May 26, 2019) \u2013 The TinCaps scored 12 runs on 15 hits in a dominating 12-2 victory over the Great Lakes Loons (Los Angeles Dodgers) on Sunday afternoon. The win snapped Fort Wayne\u2019s six-game road losing streak.<\/p>\n

The TinCaps (22-25) scored first, scratching across two runs in the top of the first via four singles and a throwing error. Justin Lopez provided one run, driving in Xavier Edwards (who led off the game with a single) with a sharply hit single into right field. The second run came home when Lee Solomon hit a grounder to shortstop and Jacob Amaya threw wildly to first, scoring Grant Little from third.<\/p>\n

Ryan Weathers started for the \u2018Caps and pitched well in limited action, going three scoreless and hitless innings with just one walk allowed. The former first rounder struck out three of the nine batters he faced. Weathers even picked off a base runner at first to end his outing with an exclamation mark.<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne busted the game open the fifth, scoring three runs on four hits. Blake Hunt provided the big blow of the inning, driving in two with a sharply hit single into center field. The TinCaps tacked on another run with a Solomon sacrifice fly. It marked the second straight game the \u2018Caps scored three runs in the fifth inning.<\/p>\n

Great Lakes crawled closer with two unearned runs in the sixth.<\/p>\n

Yet, the \u2019Caps put the game out of reach with three more runs in the seventh inning via two hits, three walks, and an error. Hunt, Solomon, and Michael Curry scored the TinCaps runs. Edwards provided one of the runs via an RBI single \u2013 the 19-year-old finished the game 4-for-5, plus a sac fly, with two RBIs. It was Edwards\u2019 17th multi-hit game and his second contest with four or more hits.<\/p>\n

For good measure, Fort Wayne poured on three more runs in the eighth courtesy of a Curry RBI double and a Jawuan Harris two-run single.<\/p>\n

Following Weathers, Henry Henry (three innings), Jose Quezada (two innings), and Carlos Belen (one inning) combined for six innings with no earned runs allowed.<\/p>\n

All nine TinCaps in the lineup had at least one hit in the game. Fort Wayne\u2019s 15 hits were a season high while the team\u2019s 12 runs equaled a season best.<\/p>\n
