The TinCaps opened their nine-game road trip with a 4-1 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Monday night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.<\/p>\n

Strong Pitching Leads ‘Caps to Road Win<\/strong><\/p>\n

Grand Chute, Wisconsin (May 6, 2019) – The TinCaps opened their nine-game road trip with a 4-1 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Milwaukee Brewers affiliate) on Monday night at Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium.<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne (13-17) took a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. After a one-out single by left fielder Grant Little, shortstop Justin Lopez ripped a single to center field that was misplayed by Wisconsin’s Korry Howell, allowing Little to score and Lopez to reach third base. The next batter, right fielder Dwanya Williams-Sutton, plated Lopez with a sacrifce fly to center.<\/p>\n

The ‘Caps added to their lead in the third. Center fielder Jawuan Harris doubled to left field and came in on a single up the middle by second baseman Xavier Edwards.<\/p>\n

Though the Rattlers (12-17) got on the board with a run in their half of the third, that was all they’d get. Left-handed starter Ramon Perez threw 79 pitches across 4 1\/3 innings. He struck out four and scattered three hits and two walks.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the TinCaps built their lead back to three in the fifth. Little drove in first basmean Lee Solomon with an RBI groundout.<\/p>\n

Following Perez, lefties Dan Dallas (2 2\/3 innings) and Cody Tyler (2 innings) teamed for scoreless relief.<\/p>\n

Harris had a game-high two hits.<\/p>\n
