Honor Flight Northeast Indiana Celebrates Flight 52!<\/strong>
\nHonor Flight Northeast Indiana (HFNEI) will celebrate its 52nd flight to Washington D.C. on Wednesday, September 10th, 2025<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 19, 2025) – The Walorski Family Foundation is honored to help sponsor this Honor Flight in her memory and to carry on her legacy. Jackie always had a heart for veterans. She met every Honor Flight that she could when she was in Washington, D.C. Whenever she met a veteran, she would always say, \u201cthank you for your service,\u201d followed by \u201cwe are a grateful nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Honor Flight Northeast Indiana has safely transported 3,901 Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built to honor their service and sacrifice for this great country. There are 85 veterans confirmed to go on this flight; WWII \u2013 2 veterans, Korean War \u2013 4 veterans; Cold War \u2013 13 veterans; Vietnam War \u2013 66 veterans, Desert Shield\/ Desert Storm \u2013 5 veterans and Iraqi Freedom \u2013 1 veteran. Among the honored veterans on this flight, one has been awarded two Purple Hearts, and another has received two Bronze Stars.<\/p>\n

HFNI President, Cathy Berkshire states \u201cHonor Flight Northeast Indiana is very grateful for receiving partial funding from the Walorski Family Foundation in memory of Jackie Walorski for this Honor Flight. Jackie worked tirelessly to make sure all the Veterans in northern Indiana were taken care of through the V.A. Administration and many other Veteran Organizations. We look forward to continuing to serve our veterans with their Honor Flight as we prepare to fly 3 missions this fall, taking our Veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the Memorials built in THEIR HONOR.”<\/p>\n

Berkshire continues, \u201cWe encourage everyone to attend the Welcome Home Celebration to honor these heroes when they return home from Washington D.C. Please plan to arrive at the Fort Wayne International Airport by 8:30 pm and park in long-term parking.\u201d<\/p>\n
