Fort Wayne Man Sentenced to 200 Months in Prison For Drug Trafficking and Firearm Offenses<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 2, 2025) \u2013 Lajuane Broadus, 48 years old, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced by United States District Court Chief Judge Holly A. Brady after pleading guilty to possessing with intent to distribute methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine, and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, announced Acting United States Attorney M. Scott Proctor.<\/p>\n

Broadus was sentenced to 200 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release.<\/p>\n

According to documents in the case, Broadus distributed controlled substances in June and September 2024. A search warrant executed at his residence resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, three firearms, ammunition, body armor, and a large amount of U.S. currency. As a convicted felon, Broadus was prohibited from possessing the firearms, and he illegally possessed the firearms in furtherance of his drug trafficking offense.<\/p>\n

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration with assistance from the Fort Wayne Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Justin C. Sheridan.<\/p>\n

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone. On May 26, 2021, the Department launched a violent crime reduction strategy strengthening PSN based on these core principles: fostering trust and legitimacy in our communities, supporting community-based organizations that help prevent violence from occurring in the first place, setting focused and strategic enforcement priorities, and measuring the results<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
