\nSelected artist to create permanent art for East Central Neighborhood<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (July 3, 2025) \u2013 The City of Fort Wayne, through its Public Art Commission, is seeking proposals from artists to work collaboratively with East Central Neighborhood residents and create a piece of permanent art for the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

Interested applicants should review the request for proposals (RFP) on the Engage Fort Wayne page<\/a>. Potential applicants may also attend a question-and-answer session on Friday, July 18, 2-3 p.m. in the City\u2019s Community Development conference room 324, suite 320, Citizens Square, 200 E. Berry St. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Friday, July 25 to the email found on the Engage web page.<\/p>\n

The permanent art is the second phase of the Public Art Commission\u2019s SHOUT-OUT: Fort Wayne program which is designed to empower neighborhoods and develop and activate their unique identities through public art. Local artist, media producer and filmmaker William Bryant Rozier serves as the project manager for this SHOUT-OUT initiative and will work with the selected artist to incorporate input and ideas from East Central residents. The final design for the art piece will be determined through engagement with neighborhood leaders and by approval of the Public Art Commission.<\/p>\n

A budget of $20,000 is available for the project and includes compensation for the artist\u2019s time, all the materials for the artwork, and installation. The SHOUT-OUT program is funded by Public Art Giveback contributions that are managed by the Public Art Commission.<\/p>\n

\nThe Public Art Program and Public Art commission were created in 2018. The primary purpose of the Public Art Program is to enliven and enhance the city through the promotion and integration of artworks into the public realm and assist with city-led beautification efforts.
