The officer rendered medical aid to the victim until paramedics arrived. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Upon arriving at the hospital the victim was pronounced deceased by a physician.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary information indicates there was a disturbance at a nearby residence that led to an exchange of gunfire. It appears the victim fled the residence on foot and arrived at the Speedway gas station seeking assistance.   <\/p>\n<p>Officers are canvassing the neighborhood and reviewing surveillance video. Detectives are on scene interviewing several potential witnesses.<\/p>\n<p>The Allen County Coroner\u2019s Office will release the deceased identity along with the cause and manner of death. This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney\u2019s Office, and the Allen County Coroner\u2019s Office.
