MiLB\u2019s Newest Team, the Malm\u00f6 Oat Milkers, to Play in Fort Wayne<\/strong>
\nThe TinCaps will play as the Malm\u00f6 Oat Milkers on Wednesday, MiLB\u2019s 121st team brought to the league by Oatly, an oatmilk company \u2013 yes, you read that right.<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 13, 2024) – This coming Wednesday (June 19), the Malm\u00f6 Oat Milkers are coming to Parkview Field, but they\u2019ll have some familiar faces. Your hometown Fort Wayne TinCaps will play as the Oat Milkers, Minor League Baseball\u2122 (MiLB\u2122)\u2019s newest team brought to the league by Oatly, the world\u2019s original and largest oatmilk company.<\/p>\n

Questions such as \u201cthe Malm\u00f6 whats?\u201d \u201chow do I even pronounce that?\u201d and\/or \u201cwhat is oatmilk?\u201d as well as statements including \u201cI don\u2019t get it, and I just want to watch some TinCaps baseball\u201d are appropriate and, frankly, not shocking. Luckily, the Oatly public relations department shared some answers with us, which admittedly could bring either more clarity or more confusion to this situation.<\/p>\n

Announced during MLB Tonight\u2019s March 27 evening broadcast, the introduction of the Malm\u00f6 Oat Milkers to the league is part of Oatly\u2019s ongoing multi-year partnership with MiLB as the first-ever national plant-based, non-dairy sponsor, and pays homage to Oatly\u2019s home city of Malm\u00f6, Sweden.<\/p>\n

All of MiLB\u2019s already existing 120 teams are each playing one game this season as the Oat Milkers, including the TinCaps on Wednesday \u2013 making the Oat Milkers more than just the 121st team of MiLB, but also an occasion for our local players to wear non-generic, but also non-outlandish pink accented jerseys for nine entire innings. Fans are under no obligation to wear Oat Milkers\u2019 gear, but we\u2019re told Oatly \u2013 the corporate sponsors \u2013 would love that.<\/p>\n

TinCaps fans can expect an unforgettable Oat Milker game experience, including a new first-pitch ritual, trivia, a chance to \u201csign a contract to be an Oat Milker for a day,\u201d and more.<\/p>\n

While now primarily known for \u201cassuming the identity of a MiLB team,\u201d Oatly also makes a delicious range of oat-based, non-dairy milk alternatives that offer the same creamy taste, frothy feel, and functionality as cow\u2019s milk, while generally having a lower environmental impact1.<\/p>\n
