In celebration of Arbor Day 2025, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation in partnership with Trees Indiana will offer over 150 seedlings to the public via a simple phone registration.<\/p>\n

Registration Opens for Free Tree Seedlings<\/strong>
\nBare root trees, ready to plant for Arbor Day<\/em><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 16, 2025) \u2013 In celebration of Arbor Day 2025, Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation in partnership with Trees Indiana will offer over 150 seedlings to the public (one per household) via a simple phone registration.<\/p>\n

Eastern White Pine, Red Oak and American Plum tree seedlings will be offered to those who register on a first come first served basis. Those who want a free tree seedling should call 260-427-6000 during normal business hours now through April 23 to reserve a seedling. The bare root seedlings must be picked up on Friday, April 25, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Kettler Park located at Buell Drive and Paulding Road.<\/p>\n

Trees are an asset to communities when planted properly and maintained. They help improve visual appeal in a neighborhood, increase property values, reduce home cooling costs, remove air pollutants and provide habitat for wildlife, among many benefits.<\/p>\n

Inclement Weather Procedure<\/strong>: Any program changes, facility closures or other weather-related adjustments will be posted to the FWPRD social media pages and website. Text alerts will be sent (to those that have opted-in to this service). If the Mayor declares an emergency, all Parks and Recreation facilities and programs will be closed or canceled.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
