Honor Flight Northeast Indiana Celebrates Historic 50th Flight<\/strong>
\nHonor Flight Northeast Indiana (HFNEI) will celebrate its historic 50th flight to Washington D.C. on Wednesday, April 23, 2025<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (March 26, 2025) – Phil\u2019s One Stop is the full flight sponsor for this notable event. They have raised over $500,000 on behalf of Honor Flight and this will be their 4th full flight sponsorship. Owners Phil and Renee Carper share, “We’re blessed to honor those who have served and sacrificed for the freedoms we all enjoy today. Phil\u2019s One Stop sincerely thanks our customers, employees, and vendors for their involvement in supporting HFNEI Flight #50. Fifty flights transporting veterans to Washington D.C. is a remarkable achievement by HFNEI, showcasing the commitment and dedication of their board and volunteers.”<\/p>\n

Honor Flight has safely transported 3,817 Veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built to honor their service and sacrifice for this great country. There are 84 veterans confirmed to go on this flight; Korean War \u2013 2 veterans; Cold War \u2013 14 veterans; Vietnam War \u2013 67 veterans and Lebanon\/Grenada \u2013 1 veteran. Among the honored veterans on this flight, one has been awarded two Purple Hearts, and another has received a Bronze Star.<\/p>\n

HFNI President, Cathy Berkshire states \u201cThank you to the Fort Wayne, Northeast Indiana, Northwest Ohio communities for helping us fulfill our mission, allowing Honor Flight Northeast Indiana to commemorate our 50th Honor Flight! We especially extend our heartfelt appreciation to Phil\u2019s One-Stop, Phil & Renee\u2019 Carper, for their generosity over the past six years. We are truly grateful for their continuous support of our veterans and Honor Flight Northeast Indiana!\u201d<\/p>\n

Berkshire continues, \u201cWe encourage everyone to attend the Welcome Home Celebration to honor these heroes when they return home from Washington D.C. Please plan to arrive at the Fort Wayne International Airport by 8:00 pm and park in long-term parking.\u201d<\/p>\n
