This past weekend, the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post executed targeted patrols aimed at criminal activity and identifying and apprehending dangerous and impaired drivers across the district.<\/p>\n

Indiana State Police-Fort Wayne District Weekend Patrols<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne District (March 18, 2025) Throughout this past weekend, the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post executed targeted patrols aimed at criminal activity and identifying and apprehending dangerous and impaired drivers across the district.<\/p>\n

Friday night in a 6 hour period, 4 Troopers in the Steuben County area wrote 30 warnings, 17 tickets, made 5 OWI arrest and filed 34 criminal charges taking 7 people to jail. Criminal charges included possession of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with alcohol, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle while never having received a license.<\/p>\n

Saturday in a 4 hour period, 8 Troopers working in Whitley and Allen Counties wrote 42 warnings, 15 tickets, made 7 criminal arrests (including 3 drug arrest), and 3 OWI arrest.<\/p>\n

The Indiana State Police is unwavering in its commitment to promoting public and traffic safety. We will continue to conduct saturation patrols, a crucial part of our strategy to detect and apprehend impaired drivers and stop crime. We request the public to play their part by prioritizing safety, whether it’s designating a sober driver or using ride-sharing services when necessary.<\/p>\n

To report a suspected impaired driver, please call 9-1-1. When contacting emergency services, please provide detailed information about the vehicle, its location, and the direction of travel to facilitate prompt intervention by law enforcement personnel.<\/p>\n

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
