The Indiana State Police is currently conducting a death investigation related to a shooting incident that occurred at the ISP Fort Wayne Post parking lot on January 2, 2025.<\/p>\n

ISP Fort Wayne Detectives Conduct Death Investigation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (January 2, 2025) – The Indiana State Police is currently conducting a death investigation related to a shooting incident that occurred at the ISP Fort Wayne Post parking lot earlier this morning.<\/p>\n

At approximately 04:40 am, a vehicle pulled into the Fort Wayne Post parking lot at 5811 Ellison Rd in Fort Wayne. An on-duty Trooper at the post walked out to check on the vehicle. While making his way to the vehicle, he heard what he thought might be a gunshot. The Trooper then noticed one female victim inside the vehicle with what appeared to be self-inflicted gunshot wounds. The victim, a 69-year-old woman from Ft. Wayne, was pulled from the car, and the Trooper started first aid. Emergency medical personnel were called and arrived. The female was transported to Lutheran Hospital, where they attempted to save her. The victim did not survive the incident. The family has been notified. Indiana State Police detective and crime scene personnel are completing the investigation.<\/p>\n

ISP was assisted by Fort Wayne PD, Allen County PD, and West Central Fire.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
