Over 60 Park projects were completed and the City of Fort Wayne invested approximately $3 million in Parks and Recreation Department improvements in 2024.<br \/>\n\u201cI\u2019m encouraged to see how much progress was made this year in projects that are improving our parks throughout Fort Wayne,\u201d said Mayor Tucker. \u201cIt\u2019s great to see individuals, families, and visitors enjoying the many recreational offerings that are available in every quadrant of the city. Providing quality of life amenities makes Fort Wayne a better place to live, work, and play. Congratulations to Parks and Recreation on a great 2024 and we know that another round of capital improvement projects will benefit our community in 2025.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Completed 2024 Capital Improvement Projects include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>10 neighborhood park playground replacements<\/li>\n<li>Botanical Conservatory North Linkway Interior &#038; Tropical Path improvements<\/li>\n<li>Franke Park Renaissance<\/li>\n<li>Irish Town Plaza Construction<\/li>\n<li>Johnny Appleseed Park Campground Improvements<\/li>\n<li>Parks System Comprehensive Plan<\/li>\n<li>Salomon Farm Restroom Building Winterization Construction<\/li>\n<li>Swinney Park Tennis Courts Recoating<\/li>\n<li>Various Parks 2024 Paving Projects<\/li>\n<li>Various Parks Playground Border<\/li>\n<li>Various Parks Safety Surfacing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Looking ahead to 2025, the following projects are planned to steward park properties and enhance use of and access to the parks for citizens and visitors.  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 neighborhood playground replacements<\/li>\n<li>Community Center Shuffleboard shade system<\/li>\n<li>East Swinney Park trail to Mechanic Street Bridge<\/li>\n<li>Foster Park Golf Course lot and volleyball courts lot seal coat and striping<\/li>\n<li>Jennings Center rear door entrance improvements<\/li>\n<li>Kettler Park trail to playground repaving<\/li>\n<li>Kreager Park trails and drainage<\/li>\n<li>Kreager Park tennis courts renovation<\/li>\n<li>Lakeside Park fountains<\/li>\n<li>Ronald G.
