Leaf Collection Kicks-Off in the Central Part of Fort Wayne<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 28, 2024) \u2013 Mayor Sharon Tucker joined Street Commissioner Brian Shimkus and Public Works Director Shan Gunawardena today to kick off the first day of annual leaf collection in the City of Fort Wayne.<\/p>\n

Beginning today, the Fort Wayne Street Department will collect leaves in the City\u2019s more than 400 neighborhoods. This year\u2019s leaf pick-up will run through December 13, but weather conditions or the volume of leaves in a particular area may cause the planned schedule to shift slightly. To keep residents informed of any changes in the schedule, leaf collection updates will be provided daily before 3:00 p.m. at cityoffortwayne.org\/leaves<\/a>. The daily updates will include what neighborhood the crews will be working in the following day. A collection map and guidelines for the process will also be located on the web page. Additionally, residents have the option to call 260-427-2302 to hear recorded daily updates. <\/p>\n

“Our residents and neighborhoods depend on essential services like leaf collection. We’re looking forward to a productive leaf season as we prepare for the upcoming changing of seasons,” said Mayor Tucker. “I’m appreciative of the efforts of our Street Department employees. They work hard each day out in the elements to help meet the needs of our community.”<\/p>\n
