Photo courtesy of the ACPL.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This October, the Allen County Public Library (ACPL) will host a variety of spooky, and not so spooky, programs for audiences of all ages to get in the spirit of the season.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Fort Wayne, Indiana (October 1, 2024) \u2013 This October, the Allen County Public Library (ACPL) will host a variety of spooky, and not so spooky, programs for audiences of all ages to get in the spirit of the season. These activities will occur across the county and celebrate the arts, technology, and, of course, reading.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHalloween is all about mystery, curiosity, and creativity. And the best place to find these experiences is at the library,\u201d said ACPL Director of Partnerships and Programs Beth Boatright. \u201cHalloween programs invite us to use our imaginations, set aside reality, and connect through storytelling. They are building community spirit during a season that explores the unknown.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many locations will be holding Thrift Store Ghost Painting programs for adults and Spooky Snacks cooking classes for children. All programs are free and all supplies are provided.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some notable activities are<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spooky Stories in the Stacks \u2013 Listen to an eerie special arrangement of spine-tingling tales from the likes of Edgar Allen Poe in partnership with Theatrefolk in the usually off-limits library basement. Adults only.<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>October 5, 3 p.m. Main Library<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Halloween Virtual Reality Extravaganza \u2013 Experience the world of Halloween with virtual reality. All ages.<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>October 11, 4 p.m. Pontiac Branch<\/li>\n<li>October 19, 11 a.m. Georgetown Branch<\/li>\n<li>October 26, Noon Main<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Paranormal Presentation \u2013 TRIPS (Three Rivers Investigative Paranormal Society) will teach the audience about the paranormal and paranormal investigative techniques.<\/li>\n<ul>\nOctober 26, 3 p.m. Main Library<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ACPL will also be participating in the <a href=\"https:\/\/aroundfortwayne.com\/news\/2024\/10\/15\/15th-annual-fright-night-this-saturday-20241019\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">annual Fright Night<\/a> on October 19 with Not-So-Spooky Crafts, Recycled Haunted House crafts, and a Zombie Pizza Hunt.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-registration is encouraged, but not required. <a href=\"https:\/\/acpl.libnet.info\/events\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Click here<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Allen County Public Library<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Allen County Public Library (ACPL) has fostered lifelong learning and discovery in northeast Indiana for more than 125 years.
