Fort Wayne International Airport Celebrates Zero Discrepancies for TENTH Consecutive Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 22, 2024) \u2013 Fort Wayne International Airport (FWA) has now gone a record ten years without any discrepancies in its annual Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety and certification inspection. The most recent annual inspection took place April 3 and April 4, 2024, and was administered by the FAA Great Lakes Region Airport Certification and Safety Office located in the Chicago, Illinois metro area.<\/p>\n

FWA passed the most recent FAA, Federal Regulation Part 139 annual inspection after an on-site inspector thoroughly examined all areas of airport operations as well as working directly with airport operations staff reviewing FAA records. These inspections include all airport departments to include, public safety, maintenance, fueling and much more. Each department at the airport plays an active role in ensuring that FWA remains compliant with all federal regulations. This year marks a record ten consecutive years of inspections with no discrepancies found at the airport \u2013 a feat that is rare for airports of any size to accomplish. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe staff at the Fort Wayne-Allen County Airport Authority works very hard to make sure that we provide a safe and efficient airfield for all aircraft operators as well as our passengers. Our team also works diligently to maintain a top-notch airport facility for the Northeast Indiana community. Ten years with zero discrepancies is a huge accomplishment that not many airports can claim, and every Airport Authority employee should be proud of that.\u201d said Scott Hinderman, Executive Director of Airports.<\/p>\n

The comprehensive inspection is administered by a representative of the FAA and reviews all areas of airport operations. Receiving a discrepancy typically results in a letter of correction and indicates that the airport may have specific areas within their operations that need reevaluated and addressed for regulatory compliance.<\/p>\n

Following the completion of the inspection, Airport Authority leadership was debriefed and given feedback collected throughout the process.<\/p>\n
