Governor’s Public Health Commission to meet on December 16, 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n

Indianapolis, Indiana (December 13, 2021) \u2014 The Governor\u2019s Public Health Commission will discuss models of public health governance and structure during its next meeting on Thursday, Dec. 16. The meeting will run from 1 to 3 p.m. in the History Reference Room (Room 211) of the Indiana State Library, 315 W. Ohio St., in Indianapolis. Proceedings will be livestreamed and available online<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Governor Eric J. Holcomb established the 15-member commission in August to study Indiana\u2019s public health system and make recommendations for improvements. The commission is co-chaired by former State Health Commissioner Dr. Judy Monroe, who now serves as president and CEO of the CDC Foundation, and former state Sen. Luke Kenley. Current State Health Commissioner Kris Box, M.D., FACOG, serves as secretary, while former Congresswoman Susan Brooks serves as a non-voting citizen advisor.<\/p>\n

In addition to governance and structure, the commission\u2019s work is focusing on areas including funding, emergency preparedness, workforce, data and information, and the integration of childhood and adolescent health services.<\/p>\n
